Halo 4 is setting new milestones and getting new content

Developer 343 Industries has revealed new data about its first-person shooter Halo 4, which launched on November 6.

Since then, 11.6 million people have played multiplayer, 343 announced at a panel at PAX East today.

Halo 4 has been Microsoft's most expensive game, but it also raked in over $220 million on day one of release. It was also the most-played title on Xbox Live that week.

That's led to 11.7 billion in-game kills and 388 million headshots since launch. Players have also executed 193 million assassinations, 4.4 million of which were in the air. They've also earned 24.5 billion medals in the competitive matchmaking mode War Games, seized 64 million vehicles, and captured 30 million flags.

343 Industries also confirmed the Halo 4 Competitive Skill Ranking (CSR) system, which measures performance against other players in War Games, for April. It's similar to the one in Halo 2 and 3.

The upcoming Title Update will enable the developer to continuously tweak multiplayer without requiring gamers to apply updates. It will also activate "X-Markers" on the heads-up display, update camo systems, and fine-tune weapons.

A new map called Forge Island is releasing on April 11 for free as a "thank you." The previously announced Castle Map Pack is also due on April 8.
