Halo 4 had an impressive debut in the UK sales charts, but failed to eclipse the success of its predecessors Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.
According to GfK Chart Track, Halo 4 sold "slightly more" units than Assassin's Creed 3, which released for PS3 and Xbox 360 the week before (Oct. 30). Halo 4 also ranked as the 18th biggest SKU launch "in terms of week 1 units", but as mentioned above, did not beat out 2007's Halo 3 (15th biggest SKU) or 2010's Halo: Reach (12th biggest SKU). With that being said, 343 Industries revealed last week that Halo 4 was the most played launch day game in the series' history.
Sales for Assassin's Creed 3 meanwhile were down 73% dropping it to number two, but still ahead of FIFA 13 which also saw a decline of sales. need for Speed: Most Wanted placed fourth while SEGA's Football Manager 2013 rounded out the top five.
But while Microsoft's Xbox 360-exclusive title enjoyed great success, Sony's exclusive LittleBigPlanet Karting debuted at a disappointing 24th. Surely, not the debut Sony had hoped for.
