Halo 5’s mysterious character is not Cortana, not Palmer, and not a girl

You know that mysterious, blue-visored figure seen in the artwork for Halo 5: Guardians? Well, there's some speculation that the character could be a physical form of Cortana (blue visor?). Some believe it's Sarah Palmer. If anything, it has to be female, right? I mean, check out those hips.

Well, here's the thing: it's none of those three.

Responding to all of the speculation on NeoGAF (where else?), Halo's Senior PR Manager Rob Semsey (aka Stinkles) confirmed "It's not Palmer and it is not a girl."

As for it potentially being Cortana, Semsey had this to say to Kotaku's Stephen Totilo:

And just like that three different speculations were debunked.

Of course, there's always the off chance that Semsey is lying. But a video game developer wouldn't do that right?

Who do you think the mysterious, blue-visored figure is? And why is he/she above Master Chief? We'll find out next fall when Halo 5: Guardians releases for Xbox One.
