Information regarding your next Halo journey will be shared at E3 this year, Microsoft's Phil Spencer confirmed.
"Halo news will be coming at E3," the Xbox boss told fans. "343 [Industries] has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone."
Unfortunately, his vague tweet didn't specify as to whether this means Halo 5 or the Halo 2 Anniversary, both of which are rumored for Xbox One release. At E3 last year, Microsoft showed off a brief teaser featuring Master Chief. Though everybody believed it to be Halo 5, Microsoft has yet to actually refer to it as that. Instead, they continue to reiterate, "We can confirmed your next "Halo" journey will begin in 2014."
Earlier this month, Master Chief voice actor, Steve Downes, told us not to expect Halo 5 in 2014, but rather the release of Halo 2 Anniversary.
“I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5,” Downes told us at the time. “I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.”
In a follow-up email to us, Downes issued a reworded response while adding that he was not actually confirming Halo 2 Anniversary. Microsoft offered no comment other than the standard PR fluff we've been hearing.
So what do you think? Halo 5 or Halo 2 Anniversary at E3 this year? Maybe both?
