A new update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been deployed which developer 343 Industries says should improve the game's multiplayer matchmaking.
As we reported earlier this morning, numerous players — including ourselves — have been unable to connect to multiplayer since the game's launch today. When attempting to enter online multiplayer, the game continues to search for a suitable match while never actually finding one. Although 343 Industries originally suggested exiting and begin searching again, it's not a fix by any means.
In a recent statement, 343 Industries said they are still "aware of" the issues plaguing The Master Chief Collection's matchmaking, and assured players they are "working around the clock, alongside the Xbox LIVE team," to address the problems and to optimize matchmaking. While the new update isn't a guaranteed fix, some improvement has at least been seen.
"This is our top priority," the developer added, noting that since the update deployed to matchmaking was done on the server it does not require an extra download on your Xbox One.
