Halo: The Master Chief Collection getting Playlist update next week

Along with a couple map variety tweaks.

With 343 Industries hard at work on Halo 5: Guardians, it's not hard to believe that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been seeing less updates in the recent months. It looks as though 343 Industries has mustered up the strength to work on an update for the game.

Unless the update is delayed, The Master Chief Collection owners will be seeing a bunch of tweaks hit their game next week. The update will tweak ranking, add new systems for quitting and penalties, improve community items, and bring new playlists (as well as play list tweaks).

So, without further ado – let's look at the changes headed our way:

TEAM DOUBLES

Halo 2 Classic & H2A tend to dominate the playlist, as the leftmost option. Next week's update willchange the voting options to bring more variety, so they’ll end up looking like this:

  • Slot 1: Slayer BRs on a mix of Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4

  • Slot 2: Objective on a mix of Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4

  • Slot 3: Slayer BRs on a mix of Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4

On top of the voting change, 343 Industries has also made the following changes to Team Doubles:

  • Removing Team Slayer SMG on Lockdown (H2A)

  • Removing Team Slayer SMG on Warlord (H2A)

  • Adding Warlock CTF (H2)

TEAM ACTION SACK
  • Party size increased from four to eight.
  • Adding Team Splasers on The Pit

  • Adding Team Splasers on Construct

  • Adding Team Rocket Lasers on Isolation

  • Adding Team Shotty Snipers on Lockout

  • Adding Team Shotty Snipers on Ivory Tower

  • Voting system overhaul to include more variety (like with Team Doubles)

TEAM HARDCORE
  • Increasing map variety for Halo 3
HALO 4
  • Adding Ricochet on Skyline

  • Adding Ricochet on Pitfall

  • Adding Ricochet on Haven

HALO 2: ANNIVERSARY
  • Increased map variety
  • Slightly reducing appearance of Stonetown 1-Flag CTF

INFECTION
  • Infection will be remain playable until the next playlist update, and it could return as a permanent playlist if it outperforms future playlists.
