Since its release today, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been plagued with a number of online matchmaking issues hindering the multiplayer portion of the game.
The main issue most players have been dealing with is unusually long matchmaking times. Here's 343 Industries' latest update:
"We are aware of the issues players have been experiencing with matchmaking and we’re working around the clock, alongside the Xbox Live team, to improve the situation. We have deployed an update that has shown some improvement, and we continue to optimize the experience. The update deployed to matchmaking was done on the server side and does not require an extra download to your Xbox One. This is our top priority and will keep everyone updated regularly as we deploy continued improvements."
Other multiplayer bugs/issues include:
- Parties being split up when entering a matchmaking game
- Games starting with unbalanced teams
- Big Team Battle currently offering 6v6 matches instead of 8v8
All of the issues are currently being investigated by developer 343 Industries, but there's no timetable as to when they'll be resolved. In the case of the 6v6 Big Team Battle, 343i says they'll leave it as is for now while they work on a fix.
