Halo Wars 2 is bringing a small twist to the RTS formula if the latest tutorial video is any indication. Starting tomorrow, gamers will be able to give Halo Wars 2 a test drive via the Blitz Beta. Blitz is a multiplayer mode consisting of 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches where players utilize a deck of cards to spawn units on the battlefield while trying to capture control points. As players manage to hold down these control points, a score counter begins to increase, and the first team to 200 points (or whoever has the most at the end of 12 minutes) wins the match.
343 Industries put out a tutorial video of the Blitz mode (embedded above) as well as an in-depth post on their blog explaining all of the systems. The Blitz Beta begins tomorrow on Xbox One, while it looks like PC players can install the game right now via the Windows Store. The beta will run from January 20th through January 30th, so players should have more than enough time to give it a shot.
Halo Wars 2 releases in full on February 21st, 2017 for Xbox One and PC. If you are a physical PC games collector, you will be able to grab a physical copy of the game courtesy of THQ Nordic.
