Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is getting a standalone release this week on Xbox One and PC

As promised, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is coming out as a standalone title, and sooner than you might think. Starting this Thursday, April 20th, gamers on both Xbox One and PC will be able to grab the game which retails for $19.99.

There was speculation that the game would be available only in the Windows Store up until a few weeks ago when it was rumored that the game would be coming to Steam as well. Those rumors are now officially confirmed as true, as the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition Steam Page is now live.

However, if you do buy the game on either Xbox Live or the Windows Store, you will have access to the Xbox Play Anywhere features that are exclusive to the platforms, allowing for cross saves and Xbox achievements. Steam players will be stuck with the platforms relatively useless Steam Achievements but will have access to the same server browser as players using the Windows Store version.

Halo Wars: Definitive Edition releases on Thursday, April 20th, 2017 for Xbox One and PC and costs $20.
