About a month ago, Disney CEO Bob Iger said something, while talking about the new Han Solo film being planned for next year, that confused listeners and started a huge rumor about Han Solo. Basically, people are debating whether or not Han Solo is his real name.
"There are a few significant things that happen in Han Solo’s life, like acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookiee that will happen in this film. But you will also discover how he got his name."
This worried some fans as well, but it was all for naught, as Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy cleared the air on a video with MTV.
“I’m not sure that that’s entirely what Bob [Iger, Disney CEO] meant. There’s more to Han Solo’s name, but it’s not that it’s not his name. It’s obviously his name. It will always be his name.”
That clears it up then. What Iger probably meant by "how he got his name" was in the non-literal sense. How Han Solo made a name for himself.
The Han Solo movie was brought up during a video for the charity Star Wars: Force for Change, as fans can win a chance to be in the origin story film.
