We don’t have long to catch our breaths from The Last Jedi until we are gifted another Star Wars Story, as the Han Solo film moves closer to its release. While there’s seemingly been more behind-the-scenes drama than average, that hasn’t stopped the wheels from turning, including that of its advertising campaign.
The official Star Wars website has released what they are calling the “Official Synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
Here it is:
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
It doesn’t tell us much that we don’t already know and echoes the fact that Lucasfilm is playing their cards close to the chest with the film. We are now almost four months from the release of the film, and we haven’t seen so much as a teaser.
Director Ron Howard has done his part teasing various aspects of the film over social media, but other than that, that’s pretty much it.
This is quite unusual as each Star Wars film that has released since Disney took over has released a trailer of some kind at least half a year ahead of time. The Force Awakens had its first teaser a year before release, and both Rogue One and The Last Jedi were about eight months.
If the hype train on the Han Solo movie is going to start, it needs to do so soon. Solo: A Star Wars Story releases in theaters on May 25th, 2018.
