The original Pokémon movie released in 1998. With it came the Mewtwo we all know and love today. For those who don't know, Mewtwo was created by Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, to be a living weapon for war.
In order to create Mewtwo, Giovanni enlisted a scientist by the name of Doctor Fuji. He was a doctor obessed with cloning since the death of his daughter, Amber. Fuji takes DNA from Mew, the ancestor of Pokémon and his daughter to clone them both.
Doctor Fuji succeeded in creating Mewtwo and Ambertwo. Both were born on February 6. (twoday?). Here's the story:
Mewtwo, being a powerful psychic, spoke to Ambertwo telepathically while they are gestating in tube things. Ambertwo dies, leaving Mewtwo alone with just a single message — being alive is the greatest gift. Mewtwo didn't respond well to her death and became very depressed, giving birth to his villainous nature.
Mewtwo didn't stay a villain, though. He eventually became enlightened by Mew – the very Pokémon that his life was founded on. Of course, his enlightenment came after the heart renching scene where Ash sacrifices himself to stop Mew and Mewtwo from killing eachother…
It's at this time that Mewtwo says a line that is terribly important and should have been your senior quote (as seen in the video above):
I see now that the circumstances of ones birth are irrelevent…It is what you do with the gift of life that detemines who you are.
Happy Birthday, Mewtwo.
