Happy New Year! PSN is down.

What better way to ring in the New Year than with some unexpected problems with PlayStation Network? I wouldn't have it any other way, Sony.

Earlier today we had problems accessing the PlayStation Store, but now it appears the outages have spread throughout all of PlayStation Network. According to the PSN status page, "some services are experiencing issues." And by some, I mean all of PlayStation's services are experiencing issues, from account management to actually playing the games you paid for.

It also looks like all platforms are affected, PS4, PS3, Vita, and even the web browser version of the PlayStation Store.

For its part, "Ask PlayStation" tweeted the following acknowledgement:

Happy 2016, folks. Time to sound the panic alarm.
