Slightly Mad Studios has unveiled the third entry into their racing-sim series with Project CARS 3. The simulator is coming out very soon, sometime this Summer for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can check out the announcement trailer here!
Bandai Namco is once again publishing Slightly Mad Studios’ large racing sim that has carved itself a nice spot among genre giants like Gran Turismo and Forza. By being a full multi-platform title, however, fans across almost every system can enjoy this racing-sim, instead of being stuck to each console’s exclusive racer.
But this also comes with some negatives. Namely, a lack of massive marketing by either Sony or Microsoft. Nonetheless, Project CARS 3 is following the franchise’s excellent tradition of offering the entire racing package. Tons of cars, plenty of tracks, and numerous customization options should satisfy every racing fan’s heart.

The announcement trailer doesn’t really do a great job at conveying all this sadly and goes for a flashy first impression, yet ends up being pretty lame. This reflects in viewers voicing their concerns about whether the franchise is leaving its simulation roots for a more arcade-like experience. Not a good look but that’s of course just a trailer.
The CEO of Slightly Mad Studios even chimed in via a Tweet where he’s promising that Project CARS 3 will have “all the sim you could want”. Thankfully, with a projected release window of this Summer fans won’t have to wait much longer to see for themselves.
