With PAX East taking place in the home town of Harmonix, it's only fitting that the developer make a splash at the event. And while I'm sure many of you are hoping for a new Rock Band announcement, the developer meanwhile has different plans in mind, like showing Amplitude.
Coming to PS4 and PS3, Amplitude is a reboot of Harmonix's 2003 cult classic music game which appeared on PlayStation 2. As you can see from the trailer released today, gameplay is largely similar to the original, but now looks much, much prettier.
Today's trailer is about more than just showing off an updated version of the game though. It actually accompanies news of a brand new team multiplayer mode. Designed to help new or lesser skilled players compete with experts, team multiplayer allows for up to 2v2 and 3v1 matches.
Amplitude still doesn't have a solid release date, but it will be playable at PAX East this weekend in Boston.
