If you play games to escape reality and enjoy a relaxing life in a foreign town where you run a farm, build a town and make friends, Astraea is right up your alley. The game itself sounds almost exactly like a Harvest Moon game – except it's an open-ended multiplayer sandbox game where you can create your own mini-games on top of all of the other stuff.
Oh, and there's no wooing the locals into marrying you. I spent hours in Harvest Moon tricking people into marrying me by giving them favorite product (like eggs or mayo — hey, it works), but that doesn't seem to be happening in Astraea (unless it was something that went undetailed).
This PlayStation 4 game will allow players to design their own towns by placing buildings/structures/objects wherever they like. When players aren't busy building up their towns they can frolic through the village and make friends, plant/harvest crops, raise farm animals, decorate your home and more. There will be plenty of fishing and horseback riding in the game, but on top of that there's a mini-game creator.
The mini-games come in the form of archer, racing and fishing tournaments that can be played against real-world friends who have been invited into your town.
Astraea will feature split-screen multiplayer and will head to the PS4 in 2016.
