Following online outrage, Hasbro has announced plans to include Daisy Ridley's Rey in an updated version of Star Wars Monopoly.
“We love the passion fans have for Rey, and are happy to announce that we will be making a running change to include her in the Monopoly: Star Wars game available later this year,” a Hasbro spokesperson said in a statement to EW.
Previously, Hasbro defended their decision to not include Rey in the game's initial run to avoid spoilers. Star Wars Monopoly released in September, months before The Force Awakens hit theaters and it was revealed that Rey was ***SPOILERS*** Force sensitive. Of course, the company could've gotten around this issues by simply including her as a fifth character with her signature bo-staff.
Hasbro didn't say when the updated version would be released, but I fully expect everyone who complained to now go out a buy it. Hasbro also noted that more Rey products will be hitting store shelves this month, including 6" and 12" figures.
She's also currently available at your local retailer on boxes of Yoplait Go-Gurt.
