Wondering about the music that played during the recent trailer for Max Payne 3? Today Rockstar revealed the people behind the music: Los Angeles-based rock band HEALTH. The band is composing both the original score and soundtrack for the game.
In an interview posted today with Pitchfork.com, the band talked about their involvement with the game:
"Video games are redefining entertainment and whether people like it or not, they are becoming as culturally relevant as films,” said the band's Jake Duzsik. “We feel that Rockstar’s projects have an undeniably raw and tasteful aesthetic. It's vitally important to us that we be involved in things we respect artistically. Max Payne 3 has a complex story that unfolds mercilessly and we are excited to be a part of it."
The Rockstar Newswire will post more details about the soundtrack soon. The Max Payne 3 Special Edition comes with the official soundtrack, featuring the game's instrumental score.
The upcoming Max Payne 3 from Rockstar Games extracts the titular character from New York City and places him in São Paulo, Brazil. The game is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 15 and PC on May 29.
