Heavy Rain, Beyond & Detroit are coming to PC via the Epic Games Store

Quantic Dream has shocked gamers around the world today by announcing their plans to bring all of their recent PlayStation exclusives to the PC. Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human will be exclusively available on the Epic Games Store as a timed exclusive. This comes not long after the French developer declared to become a multi-platform developer.

The news was delivered today during Epic’s GDC presentation and truly left audiences with their jaws open. That’s because all of these three games were PlayStation exclusives, and Sony is, unlike its competitor Microsoft rather adamant about keeping their console exclusives actually exclusive. Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls originally launched last-gen for the PlayStation 3 and received remasters for the PlayStation4. Detroit: Become Human was specifically made for the PS4 and while the older titles aren’t that shocking, it’s this title which really shocked everyone.

Detroit: Become Human is a rather new title for the current gaming console by Sony and thus is an important entry in the PS4’s exclusive lineup of games. Well, at least it was, since PC gamers will soon now also be able to enjoy Quantic Dream’s rather interesting adventure games on their preferred platform.

As if the news of Quantic Dream’s PlayStation exclusives making their way on the PC wasn’t enough of a shocker, we also learn that Epic has swooped in to secure all three games as timed-exclusives on their new PC digital distribution marketplace, the Epic Games Store. Indeed, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human already have their storepages live on EGS but you can’t pre-order them yet. There’s also no word about the concrete release dates or pricing but at least the system requirements are already available.

Users who aren’t that thrilled at the prospect of using the Epic Games Store launcher will need to wait a whole year after the EGS launch before the games make their way on Steam and other PC stores.
