Hellblade developer raised $70K in game proceeds for charity during World Mental Health Day

Earlier this month, Hellblade developer Ninja Theory committed a day of their earnings to the charity Rethink Mental Illness to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day. Earlier today, the developer sent out a tweet revealing how much they were able to raise, and the number is pretty impressive.

Check it out:

60,798.80 Euros comes out to $70,583.15, which for a single day is good money for a charity in need. Rethink Mental Illness is an organization in England that campaigns for national policy changes on mental health issues and provides resources to people and families who are struggling with these types of problems. Mental health is a subject we don't talk about nearly as much as we should, but it's just as important as your physical health.

As for Hellblade itself, the game has been a success for Ninja Theory, despite being sold at a budget price. The game currently holds a 91% Positive user rating on Steam and should see quite a few nominations for this year's Game Awards across different categories.

GameZone handed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice a perfect 10 out of 10 score earlier this year, so if you want to learn more about the game, check out the official review.
