Here are all the PS Plus and Xbox Live ‘Gold Games with Gold’ titles for 2016

With the year coming to a close and the last month of PlayStation Plus and Games with Gold having been announced, a question has been posed: Are you getting your money's worth? This year, we have seen plenty of games released as a bonus for subscribing to either Xbox or PlayStation's online service, though one service offered quite a bit more games. 

If you subscribe to PlayStation Plus and own a PS4, PS3, and Vita, you were gifted with 72 games this year. While the games are only available while subscribed to the service, it's still quite a few games. However, if you don't own a Vita and no longer own a PS3, the $59 a month service's freebies are somewhat reduced in number (33 games of 79).

It should be noted that all PS Plus games are essentially borrowed games. Once you are no longer subscribed to the service, you lose access to the games.

On the flip side, the online subscription service for Xbox, Xbox LIVE Gold, has only offered 49 games. Most (if not all) of those games, split between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, are offered as backward compatible for the Xbox One – making nearly every single game available on the newest console.

All Xbox 360 games are yours for life once downloaded – regardless of whether you are subscribed to Xbox LIVE Gold.
