Sony still hasn't announced the official, full lineup of free games coming to the different PlayStation platforms as part of PlayStation Plus for January 2015; but, if you remember, they did preview two of the games being offered on PlayStation 4. Kicking off the New Year, PS Plus members can expect inFAMOUS: First Light and The Swapper to be free on PS4.
For those unfamiliar, First Light is a standalone expansion revolving around Fetch and her return to Curdun Cay, a Conduit penitentiary also seen in inFAMOUS 2. If you recall, she's a pretty prominent side character in Second Son, and is the one responsible for giving Delsin neon powers. In First Light, she's forced to relive tragedies from her past as you unravel her dark secret in Seattle while escaping Curdun Cay and seeking vengeance against those who wronged her.
The Swapper isn't as blockbuster-y as First Light, but it stands proud as the second free game offered to PS Plus members on PS4. In this side-scrolling puzzle-platformer, you control a person stranded on a damaged space station and looking for means to escape. To progress further in the game, you must explore the space station and find orbs that are used to activate certain doors. Sometimes, though, progression means backtracking through the facility. It's worth pointing out that The Swapper is also a cross-buy game, meaning once you download it on PS4, you can play it on PS3 and Vita as well.
In addition to these two games, there's also a chance Sony will finally make Driveclub PS Plus Edition available. The free, slightly-stripped down version of Driveclub has been put on hold indefinitely as Sony and developer Evolution Studios work to fix the current server problems that have plagued the PS4 racing game since launch.
Unfortunately, that's all Sony chose to reveal months ago. The rest of January's 2015 lineup remains a mystery; but, with December almost wrapped up, it shouldn't be long until they fully lift the curtain.
