Here are some new details and the gameplay reveal date for MLB 15 The Show

In a post on PlayStation Blog, SCEA San Diego Studios Community Manager Ramone Russell update baseball fans with what they can expect from MLB 15 The Show. And there's quite a few changes coming this year!

First off, for all three versions of the game (PS3, PS4 and PS Vita) users will be able to continue their franchise and Road to the Show progress from MLB 14 The Show into MLB 15 The Show. So you won't have to restart your franchise or RTTS seasons.

For the PS4 and PS3 versions, The Show will include licensed equipment from some recognizable brands, and you can even partner with iconic brands with sponsorships in franchise mode. Franchise mode in all three versions is getting a bit of a refresh. SCEA added General Manager Contracts, so you have to consider Ownership Expectations when you run your team. The better you run your team, the better job offers you'll get. (I think it's safe to say no one wants to get stuck with the Mets or Marlins gigs, so you better do a good job.) There is also a new Performance-based Player Progressions system and improved Trade and Contract logic.

There's graphical improvements, more minor league stadiums, even more animations, new slide and tag system, enhanced ball physics, and a lot more.

There's a new Directional Hitting interface that lets you influence the direction of your hits in real-time when you swing. You use to the left stick to influence whether you're hitting a fly or ground ball, and whether you push or pull the hit. MLB 15 The Show has also partnered with the MLB Player's Alumni Association to make 30 MLB Legends playable in the game. There's one player for each team, and when you unlock them, you can bring them into your franchise mode or dynasty.

You'll be able to watch the worldwide gameplay reveal of MLB 15 The Show on February 5 at 2:00 PM PT on the San Diego Studio Twitch channel.

MLB 15 The Show launches on March 31, 2015 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. For more details on MLB 15 The Show, visit PlayStation Blog.
