While Trials of Osiris was the main attraction today, Bungie also revealed the new maps players will be getting with Destiny's upcoming expansion, House of Wolves.
A total four new maps are being introduced into the Crucible, but only three of them will be offered on Xbox systems (yay platform exclusivity!). They are:
Black Shield is set on the decomissioned Firebase Thuria, located on Phobos, the moon of the Mars. It's believed to have been a key defensive position used by the Cabal when they established their warbase on Mars. Black Shield is a geometrically symmetrical map.
Thieve's Den is a Fallen hideout located on Venus. The map offers alternate routes for those daring enough to risk falling to their death.
Widow's Court takes beyond the borders of the Tower and Cosmodrome in Old Russia to the European Dead Zone on Earth. Its setting not only gives us a glimpse at the broader Destiny universe that Bungie promised us long ago, but also, according to Bungie, provides an environment more familiar to fans of modern military shooters.
Set in a mysterious clockwork-like structure built by the Vex on Mar, Timekeeper is a small map designed for small group modes like Skirmish, and possibly the new Trials of Osiris mode.
