Here are today’s DLC drops for Dead Space 3 and Sleeping Dogs

Today isn't just about new game releases. Two already released blockbuster titles, Dead Space 3 and Sleeping Dogs, both received downloadable content today that expands your gameplay experience.

Dead Space 3 Awakened

Awakened is the first DLC for Dead Space 3. It sends Isaac and John Carver on a daunting new journey — get off of Tau Volantis, repair the Terra Nova, and get back to Earth. As we already saw in the trailer, you'll experience some of the franchise's darkest chapters in Awakened.

The two men must escape from the abandoned planet, repair the Terra Nova, and find their way back to Earth. Only one problem: blood-thirsty Necromorphs continue to attack. The solidarity among the two is further threatened as Isaac's madness sets in. Haunted by images of the Unitologists, insanity takes hold and the two survivors realize they can no longer trust each other. Unsure of what is real, and what is a hallucination, Isaac and Carver struggle through pulse-pounding fights and frights, trying to makes sense of what's really happening.

"Dead Space 3 Awakened is some of the most creative and unsettling content the team has ever created — it's really going to test gamers' psyche," said Steve Papoutsis, Vice President and General Manager of Visceral Games. "We've put Isaac and now Carver through a lot in the franchise, but these seasoned vets are experts when it comes to taking down the terror. We can't wait to see who is brave enough to venture further into the horrors that lie within Awakened."

Awakened is now available on PSN, PC, and Xbox LIVE for $9.99, or 800 Microsoft points.

Sleeping Dogs: The Year of the Snake

Sleeping Dogs also received some new content that extends the story of Square Enix's action-adventure game. The Year of the Snake includes a series of new police missions set immediately after the main game. It also adds four new Achievements/Trophies.

The Year of the Snake sees Wei Shen’s story continue as he rejoins the ranks of the Hong Kong Police Department, only to be caught in chaos. A vicious doomsday cult is taking root in the back streets of Hong Kong… the Cult of the Snake. Hell-bent on cleansing the city of its evils, they cannot be negotiated with as they pursue a murderous path to their righteous salvation.

Wei must enter a race against the clock in an explosive countdown to midnight and bring the cultists to justice before the arrival of Judgement Day. With an arsenal of weapons – including a tear gas launcher and an electroshock pistol – new outfits and abilities, Wei aims to earn back his honor with the HKPD by sabotaging the cultists’ plot to bomb, terrorize and subdue the citizens of Hong Kong.

The Year of the Snake is available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC for $6.99 (560 MSP).
