Pokemon Sun and Moon release in just a few hours, and while the excitement is at an all-time high for trainers everywhere, that is not the only Pokemon news on the horizon. Announced almost nine months ago, we knew that the mythical Pokemon Magearna would be making its debut in Sun and Moon, it was just a question of how. Magearna will not be an in-game story event like Solgaleo or Lunala, but rather a downloadable that can be redeemed via a QR code.
Beginning on December 5th, 2016, trainers can head over to the official Pokemon website to find the QR code that can be used to redeem Magearna. You will be able to scan QR codes within the game by unlocking the QR Scanner feature which happens once you complete the game's main storyline. The QR Code will be available to scan until March 5, 2017, so you have some time to finish the game before it's all gone.
Pokemon Sun and Moon release tomorrow, November 18, 2016.
