Here’s how to get into the DOOM beta with no Wolfenstein pre-order

Update: This has been confirmed by our own sources — No April Fools'.

Bethesda recently confirmed the dates of the upcoming Closed Beta for DOOM on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Unfortunately, the beta can only accessed by those that pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order.

It appears as though gamers will have a chance to participate in the beta, without having pre-ordered Wolfenstein last year or sifting through eBay for codes.

Apparently, hitting up your local GameStop store on April 1st at 6PM EST and asking for a DOOM code will get you a closed beta code! The DOOM beta codes will be "limited in supply," according to a GameStop representative in talks with GameSpot. The beta codes will be available across all platforms: Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Get there before they run out! Unless, you know… it's one giant April Fools' joke.
