Here’s how you can playtest Star Wars Battlefront before it’s even revealed

Electronic Arts may have plans to officially debut Star Wars Battlefront at Star Wars Celebration 2015 this month, but the publisher appears to be giving fans a chance to playtest the game even before then.

EA Canada and EA Redwood Shores are holding playtest sessions for Star Wars Battlefront next Friday, April 10th. Playtests will be held in 3 to 4 hour sessions at various times throughout the day for "gamers of all types" to go hands-on with DICE's highly anticipated multiplayer shooter before it's even revealed.

Registering for the event is as simple as filling out a questionnaire that asks you how often you play video games on your favorite devices and which platforms you currently own and play games on. Star Wars Battlefront is slated to release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC only, so that may be what they're looking for. They also ask you to rate your favorite genres as well as your experience with various shooters, such as the Battlefield franchise, Destiny, Call of Duty, and more. And, of course, they ask how you would "rate your Star Wars fandom", and if you enjoyed various Star Wars things, like comics, the movies (both original and new trilogy), and books/novels.

If you live in Vancouver area, sign up here for EA Canada's session. If you l ive in the San Francisco Bay area, you can sign up here for the EA Redwood session.

Participating in the Star Wars Battlefront playtest not only allows you to see the game before everyone else (JEALOUS), but also rewards you with two free games (DOUBLE JEALOUS!)

Star Wars Battlefront will make its official debut in the form of a reveal trailer during a panel at Star Wars Celebration starting at 10:30am PT on April 17. EA will also be showing off gameplay behind closed doors during the show at the official booth, although it doesn't sound like attendees will get to go hands-on with the game at the event.

Star Wars Battlefront doesn't yet have a release date, but is slated for release this holiday season. Its launch will coincide with release of the new film, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which will hit theaters December 18, 2015.
