Here’s Super Smash Bros. 3DS bottom-screen display

Forget waiting until E3 for reveals. Super Smash Bros. series director Masahiro Sakurai took to Miiverse today to reveal the bottom-screen display of the 3DS version of the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game.

"Your name will appear in the area above the accumulated damage," Sakurai explained alongside the images. "And if you tap one of the fighter displays you can highlight that fighter on your screen.

"This is useful when you want to get back at a particular opponent," he said. "You can also highlight yourself if you need to keep better track of where you are. This is a great beneift to having your own individual screen."

Super Smash Bros. will launch for the Nintendo 3DS this summer, with the Wii U version following this winter. Nintendo is hosting a Super Smash Bros. Invitational at E3 where you can get a first-look at the Wii U version in action as 16 fighters duke it out in front of millions.
