I've come to terms with the fact that Lionsgate is splitting the last book of The Hunger Games trilogy into two movies. I'm not happy that I'll have to pay twice to see something that I was able to read once in a single book, but I've accepted it. There's really no sense in fighting it because we all know we're going to pay to see both parts — and we're going to like it too. And today, Lionsgate reminded us why.
A new trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 was released today, teasing the upcoming film. For those not caught up to speed, Catching Fire ended with the beginning of the revolution. With the various districts rising up against the Capitol City, President Snow has issued special address to the citizens of Panem. The address is appropriately labeled "Together as One," and the message is simple: Fight against the Capitol City and you will suffer.
Panem today. Panem tomorrow. Panem forever. Am I right?
Oh, you may have also noticed Katniss' star-crossed lover, Peeta, standing next to President Snow during his little speech. Those of you who read the book already know the story behind this, but I'm not going to spoil it for those who haven't. I'll just casually remind you that Peeta was captured during the escape rescue at the end of Catching Fire.
