Here’s when Destiny: The Taken King will get its raid

It took us three days to launch that raid. Three days!

True to an earlier update, Bungie today announced that King’s Fall, the raid included in Destiny’s upcoming The Taken King expansion, will launch just three days after the expansion itself. King’s Fall will unlock Friday, September 18 at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern), the studio said in a recent tweet.

Bungie first revealed King’s Fall’s delayed launch at the tail end of August, promising that they “definitely have a plan for when it’s going to be available.” Evidently, they weren’t kidding; a three day delay is roughly half the wait players endured for the release of the Vault of Glass, Destiny’s original raid.

The studio says it’s gone all out with King’s Fall, which is housed in the new area, the Dreadnaught. “This is the hive ship. It is Oryx the Taken King’s capital ship,” Community Lead David “Deej” Dague said. “It’s home to King’s Fall, which is the biggest raid we’ve ever created. It’s got its own bounties, it’s got new activities."

The Dreadnaught joins a host of new features in The Taken King, including new PvE and PvP activities, crafting and character customization, equipment and quality of life improvements. For a detailed breakdown, head to our recap of Destiny’s Year Two reveal.
