We've known for a while now that Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) will be starring in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens film, but up until now we've yet to hear about or see his character. Sure, we heard him speak in an earlier trailer — "There's been an awakening… have you felt it?" — but that's been about it.
That sort of changed today when a post on the official Star Wars website hosted a previously unpublished photo of Serkis, revealing he will be portraying Supreme Leader Snoke in the highly anticipated upcoming film.
The post unfortunately doesn't reveal much else about his character, but based on the photo, which shows Serkis sporting mo-cap gear, it can be assumed his character will be CG. And judging by the snarl on his face, he will most likely be a bad guy.
The recent Vanity Fair issue also revealed that Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) will play chrome trooper Captain Phasma.
