Captain Kirk withstood the trials and tribulations that space has to offer, now he will move forward to pick up the Green Lantern power ring – maybe. It is being rumored that Warner Bros. is eyeing Chris Pine, who plays Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboots, to play as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film.
Latino Review is suggesting that any previous rumors that linked Pine to Wonder Woman were simply misdirection. Warner Bros had him in line for the role of Hal Jordan the entire time. If you hadn't heard previous rumors, they stated that Pine was in negotiations to play the love interest of Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor, in the upcoming Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot.
The rumors surrounding Green Lantern only get deeper the closer you look at the 2020 Green Lantern reboot.
According to Collider, Chris Pine won't be the only Green Lantern — the Green Lantern reboot film will feature not one, but possibly two Green Lanterns: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The rumors suggest that John Stewart will be played by Tyrese Gibson or Common. There is a possibility that both of these Green Lanterns will appear in the Justice League Part 1 in 2017.
