Here’s why the Skyrim remaster will be $60 on consoles

At E3 a week ago Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would be getting a remaster which would bring better graphics to the game. Today Bethesda revealed why console players would be paying full price for it even though they own it on last generation platforms.

The owner of the PC version  Skyrim: Legendary Edition will be getting the remaster for free, but PlayStation and Xbox owners of the Legendary Edition won't get the same treatment, they will have to pay the full $60 for the remaster, this does not wet a lot of whistles.

Pete Hines too to Twitter and said that PC player could already get the same experience that the remaster offers with mods which is why they are giving it away for free, since PC players already has that experience, that's how Hines said they reasoned. This means that since the remastered experience does not exist on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 they have to pay for it. Not gonna lie, the reasoning is a vague at best.

As can be seen in the Tweets bellow Hines vaguely explains why the console remaster will cost a full $60, and it's because it's coming to a new platform. But as can be seen he is also avoiding questions and basically saying that the console versions are inferior to their PC counterparts.

In the end Bethesda is a company who's main goal is to make money and that is why console players will have to pay the $60 for the Skyrim remaster.
