Anyone following the CW network's DC Comics shared universe (Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow) may have stumbled upon the animated series called Vixen, available on the CW Seed. The series centers on Mari McCabe, a hero with the ability to mimic the abilities and traits of any animal on the planet. A mainstay of the DC Comics universe, she was first introduced in the 70's and has been an occasional member of the Justice League over the years.
The character will make her first live-action debut on this weeks episode of Arrow, entitled "Taken". Vixen will be portrayed by Megalyn Echikunwoke, reprising her role from the animated series. The official synopsis is as follows:
"Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes he needs help battling Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) so he calls in an old friend – Vixen (guest star Megalyn E.K.). Using her magical ability to summon animal powers, Vixen gets a lock on Darhk’s location and the team goes to war. Meanwhile, Thea (Willa Holland) has a heart-to-heart talk with Malcolm (John Barrowman)."
Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8pm on The CW!
