Hey Sony, we volunteer to show The Interview

With reports that five of North America's largest theater chains — Regal Entertainment, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, Carmike Cinemas, and Cineplex Entertainment — have decided not to play Sony's The Interview, we have an idea that just may be crazy enough to work.

We stick it to the terrorists threatening these theaters by debuting the film online for all to see. What better way to show these terrorists they won't win than by hosting a massive watch party where everyone can enjoy this film from the comfort of their home?

Sure, it's a wild idea. And I get you're in the business of making money, but at this point isn't it more about making a stance? Don't concede to these supposed threats which at this point even the U.S. Department of Homeland Security says has "no credible intelligence to indicate an active plot against movie theaters within the United States."

Well, if these theaters are going to bend to terrorist threats then it's time to turn to an industry that embraces creative freedom — as evidenced with Valve's overturning of Hatred on Steam Greenlight today. Video games may still be in its infancy when compared to the film industry, but we've proved to be much more mature when it comes to creative freedom.

So Sony, consider this an open invitation to debut The Interview on Gamezone.com.
