Metal Gear creator, Hideo Kojima, as quite a bit to look forward to, he has a new studio and a budding partnership with Sony – nothing could be better for the man who was humiliated on multiple occasions by the company he worked for since 1986, Konami. It's safe to say that Kojima is ready to put Konami behind him, but that doesn't mean it's safe to ask him questions about the split.
According to a new report from The New Yorker (via GameSpot), Kojima will not be able to speak on the terms of his split with Konami. In fact, it's being reported that Kojima is "contractually forbidden" from discussing anything about the terms of his release.
One of the few things that Kojima noted about his split with Konami's split was that, “If you’re only focussed on the profits immediately in front of you, the times will leave you behind. It becomes impossible to catch up again.” This statement falls in line with the reason that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's composer gave for Kojima's removal from Konami, he simply spent too much money developing games. Konami is focused on developing lower budget games that bring in more money, like mobile games.
Kojima has so much to look forward to with his new studio, we can stop looking at the reasons why he split with Konami and starting looking at what is to come.
