Since his breakup with Konami, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has been hard at work founding his new studio, Kojima Productions. Details on the first game that Kojima's studio will push out have been scarce, but it has been revealed that it will be developed in partnership with PlayStation
Unfortunately, we won't be hearing much about the upcoming game. Kojima has yet to establish a physical studio or gather a group of developers to work on the game. The Metal Gear creator took to the latest video on Hideo Tube (via DualShockers) to ask gamers for more patience.
“I bet people want to hear more about games, but here we are chatting about movies again… This, I understand. Since the studio was just founded, it’s still too early to be talking about that. Right?
We still don’t have the staff, no building, just started the basic plan. I’m in the middle of figuring out how I want the studio to look. Please wait a bit longer.”
As for the team of developers Kojima is looking to band together, the developer is less concerned with their background and more concerned with their character.
“Also, we just started our studio, and we’re looking for people to join our team. […] To put it simply, we want to keep it a small team with people making a game together, so, people who have passion, are energetic, people who inspire each other.
Rather than to say that we’re looking for staff, I’d say we’re looking for team mates. Age, sex or where you were born don’t matter.”
It will be interesting to see where Kojima goes with his new team, but the last thing we need is for him to feel rushed.
