Hideo Kojima reunites with The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus for an ‘update’

Game developer Hideo Kojima and The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus have reunited for an "update" on Kojma's new company.

The duo previously worked together on Konami's Silent Hills, a reboot of the horror franchise that was abruptly cancelled months after the release of the playable teaser, P.T. Reedus was cast as the game's lead, lending both his voice and likeness to the project.

Though P.T. was a surprise hit, with most fans looking forward to Silent Hills, Konami announced its cancellation in spring of 2015, as the company began shifting its focus from AAA games on PC and consoles to mobile and free-to-play titles. The company's strange and abrupt breakup with Kojima, while puzzling, was very much open to the public.

Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim, Hellboy), who was working on Silent Hills as well, recently revealed the duo (he and Kojima) are planning to work on a new project together. Kojima's tweet could serve as a signal that Norman Reedus could also be involved.

If something is in the works, it's possible we could get an announcement at this week's D.I.C.E. Summit, where del Toro will help induct Hideo Kojima as the 21st member of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) Hall of Fame. The two will also deliver a keynote session that has been named "A Conversation with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro." It will "offer insight into their creative vision and the driving forces behind their artistic pursuits," and "revisit some of their fondest memories from their own individual careers as well as some of the pivotal moments from each other’s work that remain a constant source of inspiration."
