Hidetaka Miyazaki hopes you’ll be kind with Bloodborne’s framerate

FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki is aware of the concerns surrounding the frame rate of his studio's upcoming action-RPG, Bloodborne. In fact, the game director even laughed about it when asked about his thoughts on the speculation that FromSoftware might be settling for 30 frames per second.

"Obviously, whatever we can do within the technical limitations, while making sure we deliver the best thing we possibly can for Bloodborne," Miyazaki told fans at PlayStation Experience. "And I understand there are many voices saying why aren't you running at 60fps, and I get it, but at the same time, we're not here to make any excuses as to why we can't do it. This is where we are.

"The reality is that it's running, and it's the best of what can offer for Bloodborne today," Miyazaki said, adding, "But to be honest, I hope that you guys can be kind to us."

So that's where we are. Bloodborne is running on PlayStation 4, and it's running really well, too. Having gone hands-on with a portion of the game at PlayStation Experience, our own Mike Splechta concludes that it "looked very gorgeous" and "performed fantastically." Check out our preview here.
