Hitman 2 announced for November 2018; Co-op mode out today

Hitman is one of the biggest games of the generation due to the insane amount of replayability, the goofy outcomes and variables that have spawned hilarious YouTube videos, and the insane support given by developer IO Interactive for over a year after release.

This year after splitting from publisher Square Enix in 2017, IO Interactive has announced they will be partnering with WB Games to make Hitman 2. The sequel will be ditching the episodic nature in favor of a more traditional level structure. It’s unclear if they’ll release additional levels in the future but it seems like Hitman 2 will be a complete package on release.

“We are thrilled to partner with IO Interactive on Hitman 2 and bring the latest game in this iconic franchise to the passionate Hitman fanbase and new players,” said David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “IO Interactive has done a fantastic job with the Hitman franchise, and this new game will provide a distinct gameplay experience for players to be creative in larger sandbox locations.”

“We are very proud to announce Hitman 2 as the next exciting chapter in our ever expanding world of assassination. Building on the success of our previous game, Hitman 2 introduces exciting new features, new modes, and franchise firsts to make for a larger and richer game,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive. “We couldn’t have wished for a better partner than Warner Bros. to bring this game to our passionate community and introduce new players to our universe. Welcome back 47!”

Your missions will take you to rainforests and racetracks in Miami amongst other places around the globe, Agent 47 will also be joined by other operatives in a new mode called Sniper Assassin. Players who pre-order now will get an additional mode they can play starting today that allows them to hunt targets from a distance with friends. You can check out the reveal trailer for Hitman 2 below which features a ton of different various ways to assassinate the racetrack target in roughly a minute.

We’ll find out more details at E3 next week. Hitman 2 will release on November 13th, 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
