Hitman 3 debuts opening cinematic ahead of release

Hitman 3 is just a little over a month away now. To help ease the wait, IO Interactive has released the game’s opening cutscene that will tee up the story for players.

The trailer puts Agent 47 and former friend turned antagonist turned friend once again together on a new adventure. It looks like 47 will certainly not be alone in the finale to this trilogy. For a bit more insight, the description for the new look at Hitman 3 reads as follows.

“Agent 47 is reunited with his long-lost friend Lucas Grey as they begin their hunt for the partners of Providence. Witness the opening cinematic to the game and prepare for the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy.”

Hitman 3 was revealed this past summer as a PlayStation 5 game with PSVR support. The game will also make use of the PS5’s DualSense controller with adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and more. IO Interactive is also using the next-gen tech to increase crowd sizes into the hundreds, 4K60FPS, and refined AI.

For veterans and newcomers, the entire Hitman trilogy will be playable within Hitman 3. All levels from Hitman 1 & 2 will be playable within the third game with the various new features, including VR. It’ll essentially be the ultimate Hitman experience.

Hitman 3 will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on January 20th, 2021.
