Hitman 3 shares the plethora of Game Modes with PvP being axed

Resources will be used on better modes

IO Interactive has shared an informative blog post of all the game modes that are going to be included in Hitman 3. Apart from the return of fan-favorite modes, one particular aspect from Hitman 2 did not survive the chopping block though.

Agent 47 is being prepared for the conclusion of the World of Assassination Trilogy that started back in 2016. The reboot of the franchise saved a series that lost its path and almost went defunct completely.

The developers have done a great job by exemplary post-launch support that exceeded beyond sequels even. New mechanics, improved gameplay, and more have made revisiting previous games in the trilogy inside the sequels a joy to experience.

With Hitman 3, this approach is taken to a whole other level in the form of full VR support. That mode will be console-exclusive for a short period on the PS4 before coming to PC.

Fans of the series who play traditionally can still look forward to a large amount of content and lots of game modes. From the Campaign to time-sensitive Elusive Targets, Escalations to Contracts Mode, and the chill Sniper Assassin Mode, it’s all here for players to enjoy.

The PvP Ghosts Mode is gone, however. Not only won’t there be a 1v1 competitive assassin action in Hitman 3, but Hitman 2’s Ghost Mode will also be shut down at the end of this month, August 31st. Ghost was the first time the series dabbled into multiplayer but it didn’t prove to be a huge hit among players. That’s why IO Interactive decided to use their time and resources on other aspects.

Hitman 3 is slated to launch early next year, sometime in January for current-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One, alongside next-gen systems PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
