Hitman developers say they are “making great progress” on the next game in the series

Almost half a year after going fully independent, IO Interactive hasn't missed a beat, releasing Hitman: Game of the Year Edition just yesterday, and in a blog post on the company website, CEO Hakan Abrak thanked fans for their support and revealed that the company is also working on the next game.

"Your support will directly help us to continue on our independent journey towards the next Hitman game and beyond," said Abrak. "We’re in this together, and we promise that we will channel our passion and skills to shine through in everything that comes from this studio."

He continued:

One last thing about our next Hitman game; I want to let you know that we’re making great progress and we have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can’t wait to tell you all about.

Of course, the details end there, but Abrak says that the studio will talk about the next Hitman at "some point in 2018."

Hitman: Game of the Year Edition brings an all-new Patient Zero campaign alongside "loads of visual and mechanical improvements" and is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
