Psyonix's cars-meets-soccer game, Rocket League, has officially been turned into a winter wonderland filled with all sorts of festive, holiday-themed items, including a new hockey mode.
As previously detailed, the update brings a new hockey-inspired Mutator Mode, "Snow Day," which replaces the "Mutator Mashup" online playlist. "Boasting an ice-themed field and a heavy, disc-shaped puck, “Snow Day” brings an awesome new twist to Rocket League’s classic, football-fueled gameplay," Psyonix wrote of the mode.
In addition to the new mode, a number of free holiday items are now available for free. When you complete a match, you'll have the chance to unlock the following items:
- “Xmas” Rocket Trail
- “Blitzen” Topper
- “Christmas Tree” Topper
- “Sad Sapling” Topper
- “Santa” Topper
- “Candy Cane” Antenna
- “Holiday Gift” Antenna
The chances of one of these "Winter Games" items dropping are lower than the "standard" garage items, but once you unlock them they are yours to keep forever. These special items will only be available through drops until January 4th, at which point you'll have to wait until next year to get.
Rocket League is available exclusively on PS4 and PC with the Xbox One version arriving in February.
