Home Alone returning to theaters for 25th anniversary

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal

Can you believe Home Alone turns 25 this year? Yup, I feel old. While we've all come a long way since the younger days of Kevin Mccalister, one thing has remained the same: kids are scared of the dark.

Since its debut 25 years ago, during which it enjoyed an unprecedented four-month run in theaters, Home Alone has gone to become the highest grossing live action comedy of all time. Despite the countless sequels that have attempted to tarnish the Mccalister family name, the original Home Alone remains one of the greatest holiday films ever. And now it's time to celebrate.

For Home Alone's 25th Anniversary, Twentieth Century Fox and Fathom Events have teamed up to bring the beloved holiday family film back to select cinemas nationwide for special event screenings on Sunday, November 8, with an encore screening on Wednesday, November 11. Tickets to the special event, including theater locations showing the movie, can be purchased here.
