Six years ago, we got to experience the next step in the Tron franchise with Tron: Legacy. Unfortunately, the third installment in the Tron series was put on the backburner and Disney turned their focus to Star Wars. Last year, the actor that played Sam Flynn in the film suggested that Tron 3 wasn't as dead as we believed.
Of course, his co-star Olivia Wilde would say it is deader than dead. Apparently, one Disney producer hasn't forgotten the film and has hopes that Tron 3 will still be made.
During a sit down with ScreenRant (via SlashFilm) Disney producer Brigham Taylor revealed that there had been 'conversations' on Tron 3 and that he still has hope:
"I always hope for that. I just had a wonderful visit to Shanghai, where they have an amazing attraction based on Tron Legacy. The designers just did such an amazing job creating the feeling of stepping onto The Grid, and that indelible visual world that Lisberger created and Kosinski explored… and I think there’s a real stickiness to that that I hope can grow into a film or whatever else. So I don’t know what I’d ‘hint’ at other than that I hope for that, and that there’s obviously been conversations."
The question is, do we want to see a Tron 3?
