Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Super Bowl spot takes shot at Patriots and Deflategate

Super Bowl XLIX is this Sunday, so you know what that means… all of the ads that used to debut during the Super Bowl's commercial breaks are now being released this week. We've already seen the Budweiser ad, and GoDaddy just pulled their ad because of backlash.

Now we are getting the the Super Bowl spot for Paramount's Hot Tub Time Machine 2 early. The ad focuses on the Patriots and Deflategate — which has been all the talk of the NFL since the 11 of the 12 balls the Patriots used in their AFC Championship win over the Colts were founds to be significantly deflated. The ad reminds you to make sure your balls are fully inflated if you're going to take on the Patriots.

As for how good Hot Tub Time Machine 2 will be… I'm really not sure. The first one caught me off guard and I loved it. But comedy sequels tend to be rehashed ideas and jokes. Gone is John Cusack, and taking his place is Adam Scott. In HTTM 2, Lou (Rob Corddry, who has become the "father of the internet," is shot by an unknown assailant. So Jacob (Clark Duke) and Nick (Craig Robinson) fire up the time machine again to save their friend.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 releases in theaters on February 20, 2015.
