I don't know if it's a delay since Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number never actually had a release date, but either way it looks like we're going to be waiting for the anticipated sequel.
Although developer Dennaton Games previously targeted a September 2014 release, the company today announced that the game is still getting "some final tweaks an polish." It's now expected to be ready for "late 2014 or early 2015."
In a follow-up tweet, the company wrote: "Your patience is appreciated and will ultimately be rewarded with everything you hoped for andd nothing like what you expected."
Revealed back in June of last year, Wrong Number takes place both before and after the events of the first game. It places you in the blood-soaked shoes of several distinct killers – each with their own motivations and execution methods. The sequel is said to include hundreds of new sprites and animations with a variety of savage new weapons to fulfill your murder lust. Wrong Number will feature an early '90s vibe with attention focused heavily on the "emotional aspects" of the error.
