Without even knowing what the role is, I want Kate Mara to star in the Star Wars spinoff movie. Thankfully, she tested for the film's female lead, according to Variety's Justin Kroll.
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18, 2015. Directed by J.J. Abrams, The Force Awakens stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Max von Sydow, Andy Serkis, Domhall Gleeson, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Daisy Ridley and Anthony Daniels.
We've had some concept art to satiate us until the release of the next Star Wars trailer, but the spinoff movies are getting us equally as excited.

There are two spinoffs already planned to release in between Episodes 7, 8 and 9. The first of these stand-alone films will be directed by Gareth Edwards, which is scheduled to open in December 16, 2016. Some high profile actresses have already tested for the female lead in Edwards' film, including Rooney Mara (who is Kate Mara's sisters), Felicity Jones and Tatiana Maslany. Outside of that, there's no information on the plot of the film or the role they're trying to get. That said, there have been rumors that the film would be about a team of bounty hunters that are trying to steal the Death Star plans for the Rebel Alliance, so there's a possibility that Kate Mara could play a young Princess Leia… she kind of looks like her too.
The other stand-alone film is being directed by Josh Trank, who is directing the Fantastic Four reboot, which stars Kate Mara as Invisible Woman. Kate Mara was also nominated for an Emmy for her role in Netflix's House of Cards.
